Madison Gutierrez
Research Technician
Madi is a first-generation Mexican American scientist with a B.S. in microbiology from Cal Poly Humboldt and has served as a CIRM Scholar at Stanford School of Medicine, where she contributed to a bioRxiv study identifying HDAC inhibitors as enhancers of phagocytosis in glioblastoma. Currently, she is completing her M.S. in Biology from Cal Poly Humboldt, where her thesis project aims to investigate how loss of the tumor suppressor LGL1 impacts neural stem progenitor cell migration and transcription. She is excited by the opportunity to continue studying and developing glioma models. Outside the lab, Madi enjoys discovering new music, tackling art projects, and weightlifting.
